How does this perform with purgecss? As classes are wrapped inside the code I'm not completely clear on how this strategy will lead to a smaller css file in the final bundle.
I agree that Tailwind is extremely verbose when defining components, almost just as writing full CSS only custom classes, but at least on bigger real world projects this verbosity leads to really small css files thanks to purging unused styles. It's a trade of between making developers happy or providing great user experience (which must be the goal of every web development; lower bundle sizes, faster downloads, faster sites, happier visitors).
